NIAMS offers osteoporosis research grants
The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and
the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin
Diseases (NIAMS) are offering grants for studies that develop
methods to prevent osteoporosis by physical activity and dietary
means in childhood. It is anticipated that four to six new grants
will be awarded under the program (HD97-006). Grant applications
must be submitted by Sept. 5. The earliest anticipated award date
is April 1, 1998. Applications can be obtained by accessing the
NIAMS home page at http://www.nih.gov/niams in the "Grants
