On Friday morning, a continental breakfast for attendees will be held outside LaNouvelle Orleans Ballroom before the First Vice Presidential Address by James Herndon, MD. Following the First VP Address is Presidential guest speaker, Former Senator Bob Dole who will address the membership as he speaks of his personal history of service. The business meetings will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Be sure to stop by the Resource Center, where you'll find the Academy's collection of publications, electronic media materials and examinations on display and available for purchase, located in Hall D of the convention center. Also in Hall D is the Multimedia Education Center where award-winning programs and videotapes chosen from the 2003 Orthopaedic Surgical Video Library will be presented and hands-on demonstrations of new DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, and Internet programs also will be featured.
A half-day complimentary symposium for orthopaedic residents will be presented on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Speakers will provide practical information on the legal and business aspects of orthopaedics. Topics will include making the transition from residency to practice, medical malpractice, fraud and abuse, CPT Coding, financial planning, and using PDAs in office practice.
