Orthopaedists to focus on aging patient
Orthopaedic surgeons with a special interest in geriatrics
or those who want to learn more about the aging patient are invited
to attend a breakfast meeting, Friday, March 20, 7 to 8 a.m.,
Room MR3, at the Annual Meeting. The purpose of the meeting is
to discuss areas of common interest and to explore the possibility
of establishing a shared interest group open to Academy members.
"The Academy’s work in this area over the past three
years has surfaced much interest and expertise," said former
Academy president James W. Strickland, MD, meeting chairman.
"The American Geriatrics Society has complimented the Academy
on all we have accomplished so far, and have made an additional
grant to fund this meeting." To register, contact Mark
W. Wieting, vice president, AAOS, education programs, (800)
