Proposed changes for 100 procedures on home page
An updated list of the 100 most commonly performed
orthopaedic procedures and their proposed reimbursement changes
under HCFA’s new practice expense values for Medicare reimbursements
can be found in the "What’s New This Week"
section of the Academy’s home page at http://www.aaos.org.
The table entitled "1997-1998 Medicare payment changes
for top 100 orthopaedic procedures" lists the estimated
impact on total Medicare payments by detailing estimates for in-
and out-of-office services; total payments of the 110 percent
practice expense cap; and total payments of the new conversion
factor.
