February 1999 AAOS Report
Testing imaging skills online
Test your imaging discrimination by accessing
"Orthopaedic Flash Cards" on the Academy's web site.
Every month, the Academy will post five challenging images
in the "Medical Education"
section of the home page, and
individuals can review the images to determine the diagnosis
or problem presented. All types of orthopaedic images will
be presented including radiographs, CT, MRI and arthrograms.
Images are presented in a "thumbnail" format. Click on the
image to enlarge it, and then answer a series of questions
relating to the diagnosis or the problem. Academy members
also can submit images to post on the web site. Send
images along with the diagnosis or problem to George W.
Wood II, MD, editor, Orthopaedic Flash Cards, AAOS,
department of electronic media, 6300 N. River Rd.,
Rosemont, Ill. 60018. Images can be submitted in
35mm slides, black and white print (5 x 7 required),
floppy disk or e-mail, ofc@aaos.org. Questions about
submissions can be directed to the Academy's department
of electronic media, (800) 346-2267. (Once submitted,
images will not be returned and become the property of
the Academy.)
