Attend annual business meetings

All Academy fellows are encouraged to attend the annual business meetings on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11:15 a.m. in the Arena of the convention center. There will be one business meeting for the 501(c)(3) organization, immediately followed by a second meeting for the 501(c)(6) organization-American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. The Association is the parallel-member organization that will allow the Academy to pursue greater lobbying and other advocacy activities on behalf of orthopaedic patients and the profession.

Academy members also are encouraged to attend the Academy's Bylaws Committee open hearing on Thursday, Feb. 4, beginning at 1 p.m., to provide comments on proposed amendments, including the proposed amendments shifting some of the Academy's functions to the 501(c)(6) association. The Resolutions Committee will hold its open hearing on Friday, Feb. 5, beginning at 10 a.m., to discuss the resolutions under consideration at the Annual Meeting. The committees will present their recommendations at the annual business meetings. Both open hearings will take place at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel and Towers in Laguna Room AB.
