Academy presents two CME webcasts

Now available on the AAOS Web site are two official webcasts, both of which carry CME credit. "Minimally Invasive versus Open Approaches in Shoulder Surgery: Current Controversies," moderated by Evan L. Flatow, MD, covers the scope of advances in shoulder surgery. In this session, minimally invasive versus open treatment of rotator cuff tears, instability and shoulder fractures are discussed, along with their benefits and drawbacks.

The other course, "Management of early complications of total knee replacement: state of art in 2003," moderated by Daniel J. Berry, MD, provides optimal methods for managing early complications of total knee arthroplasty, including early postoperative infection, skin slough or wound edge necrosis, knee stiffness in the first three months after surgery, early peroneal neuropathy, early or intraoperative extensor mechanism disruption and venous thrombosis in the first two weeks after total knee arthroplasty.
