"Our fine young sons and daughters of America who have given so much to our country are getting the best care possible for their injuries from orthopaedic surgeons and other excellent health care team members," said Dr. Herndon. "The orthopaedic care is being given by many Academy members who are serving in uniform."
Walter Reed Army Medical Center has treated a total of 160 patients from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Most have a variety of broken bones, other orthopaedic injuries, gunshot wounds and minor injuries.
