AAOS members can apply for the chairmanship of the Council on Education, as well as several project team and committee openings. Chair of the Council on Education is responsible for overseeing the educational activities of the AAOS and developing a strategic plan for its educational mission. The Chair works closely with the Council, which includes the chairs of committees involved in education.
There is also a close working relationship with the AAOS chief education officer and senior education staff. Planning the agenda for Council meetings, particularly with respect to strategic planning and focus of discussions, is an important component of the position.
