Attend new AAOS course on mergers and buyouts
Space is still available to attend "Options
and Opportunities in Consolidating Markets: Orthopaedic Mergers
and Buyouts," the Academy's new 1998 comprehensive practice
management course series. The course takes an indepth look at
two of the most prevalent practice directions-merging physician
practices and practice "buyouts" by physician practice
management groups. "I found the course to be the most comprehensive
information source for orthopaedic surgeons available," said
Alan H. Morris, MD, chairman, Council on Health Policy
and Practice. "The panel members have vast 'real-time experience'
in presenting a variety of merger models from different geographic
regions. Any orthopaedist or office manager who is contemplating
a merger or buyout will benefit greatly from the information I
heard presented." Course dates and locations are June 13-14,
Arlington, Va.; Sept. 12-13, Orthopaedic Learning Center, Rosemont,
Ill.; Oct. 3-4, Atlanta; Nov. 14-15, San Francisco; and Dec. 5-6,
