The House of Delegates of the American Medical Association, meeting in late June, approved a resolution that the Board of Trustees assume responsibility for implementing changes in the Evaluation and Management (E/M) documentation guidelines and that the AMA work with the Health Care Financing Administration to test and evaluate pilot projects prior to adopting a new documentation system.
The delegates also requested that a task force be appointed to review the proposed guidelines and identify problems and solutions.
