New PSA campaign promotes benefits of physical activity
- At least 35-60 minutes of physical activity daily are important to a childs physical, brain, social and emotional development.
- Total body and site-specific bone mineral content, and area bone mineral density, are positively affected by increased physical activity in children. Between the ages of 10 and 18 children are building bone mass that must last a lifetime. Healthy bone mass can prevent conditions such as osteoporosis later in life.
