New pavilion to show latest technology
The Technology Pavilion will be making its debut at the AAOS Annual Meeting Feb. 13-17, 2002 in Dallas. Its a showcase for the most current technology products and applications developed for orthopaedic surgeons.
"Were excited about it because its one of the newest additions to the exhibit floor in a number of years," says Frank A. Pettrone, MD, chair, Committee on Exhibits. "Its the goal of the Committee on Exhibits to draw attendees to the technical exhibitsso we recommended that space on the exhibit hall floor be devoted for a Technology Pavilion. Our concept is to bring the latest technological advances to the orthopaedic practice. We want to show Academy members whats new, how you can use a product and incorporate it in your practice and enhance your practice."
Located in Exhibit Hall E, the Technology Pavilionstaffed by Academy members and outside vendorswill provide information on relevant technological topics such as the use of the Internet, how to make PowerPoint presentations, useful tips on PhotoShop, e-mail privacy and security and handheld and wireless computing devices.
Daily presentations will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Feb. 13-15, 2002.
For the convenience of busy attendees, there also will be several Palm Beaming Stations available at the Technology Pavilion so AAOS members can "experience and download" Annual Meeting information directly to their Palm or other hand held device, adds Dr. Pettrone.
In addition, there will be an "Ask the Experts," booth where AAOS members and independent consultants will answer questions dealing with hardware, software, the Internet, e-mail, and other technological-related topics.
