Individuals interested in submitting original manuscripts for the 1997 Kappa Delta Awards and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award must forward papers to the Academy by July 1. Manuscripts for the Kappa Delta Award should focus on the results of basic or clinical research that relate to the musculoskeletal system. The manuscripts should represent a large body or many years of scientific work or describe a single research project of unquestionable significance. The OREF Clinical Research Award will have particular focus on the recognition of outstanding clinical research directly related to musculoskeletal disease or injury. Up to three $20,000 Kappa Delta Awards will be given, one of which is designated for young investigators. The OREF Clinical Research Award also is worth $20,000. Award winners will be announced in November, and they will be honored during the Academy's Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
