Donald J. Rose, MD, on May 22 received the "Distinguished Alumnus Award" from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey . . . Augustus A. White III, MD, PhD, orthopaedic surgeon in chief emeritus, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Ellen and Melvin Gordon professor of medical education at Harvard Medical School, has been named to the National Advisory Council on Minority Health and Health Disparities of the National Institutes of Health . . . O. Tom Johns, MD, who practices in Murfreesboro, Tenn. and serves as team physician for the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, on June 21 was inducted into the Blue Raiders Hall of Fame, an honor almost exclusively reserved for the school's athletes.
