Academy seeks volunteers for 'Managed Care Watch' program

The Academy is developing a "Managed Care Watch" program and is seeking orthopaedic surgeons from each state in the U.S. The volunteers should have considerable knowledge of managed care trends and network arrangements in their areas. Members of the program will serve in an advisory capacity, primarily by phone and mail, to help the Academy identify the impact of managed care on orthopaedic practices in cities, regions and states around the country. The Academy is seeking orthopaedic surgeons in high-level leadership roles within managed care organizations, insurance and other managed care-related companies; within large physician networks, single and multispecialty groups, and clinics; and with recognized expertise on managed care issues and the evolution of physician network arrangements in their communities and regions.
