"Outcomes and Effectiveness in Musculoskeletal Research and Practice," a symposium sponsored by the Academy, will be held Oct. 11-13 in Cambridge, Mass. The symposium has been designed to provide participants with an overview of the history and basis for outcomes research; a comprehensive review of current research methodologies; and insight into the role and impact of outcomes research on the practice of medicine. An update on the federal government's current outcomes research and funding opportunities also will be detailed. There will be software demonstrations of current outcomes data collection programs.
