National Action Network develops mission, structure
The organizing committee of the U.S. National Action Network, which was convened in October, 2000 to set a U.S. agenda for the Bone and Joint Decade, is developing a mission statement, organizational structure and goals. In January, committee members will meet face-to-face to decide how to enlist prospective coalition members. The network is made up of medical, patient and government interests. Current members of the organizing committee of the network are the AAOS, Shriners Hospitals, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, National Athletic Trainers Association, American Physical Therapy Association, American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, American College of Rheumatology, American Geriatrics Society, American Osteopathic Association, Arthritis Foundation, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and American Chiropractic Association.
