December 2001 AAOS Report

Public Relations plans Annual Meeting offerings

Volunteers are needed to build a safe, accessible playground at Reverchon Park in Dallas on Tuesday, Feb. 12. To sign up, visit the Special Events section of the AAOS Annual Meeting registration area on the web site, AAOS will once again offer free interviews to members attending the Annual Meeting Hometown Radio. The interviews give AAOS members the opportunity to voice their opinions to their communities about orthopaedic matters and increase public awareness of the specialty. Recorded segments are edited and transmitted by digital phone feed to local stations in each member's hometown. Appointments are available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Feb. 13, 14 and 15) from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. To schedule your 15-minute time slot, call Addy Kujawa, (800) 346-2267, ext. 4033. The Media Relations Department also asks that members keep them informed of all new developments, such as media appearances or conference participation. The department needs to stay atop current developments and would like to know in advance of any new studies or research that will be distributed to the media.
