December 2002 AAOS Report
OSAE deadline extended to January 31, 2003
The 2002 Orthopaedic Self-Assessment Examination (OSAE) was mailed in early November. Due to the late release of the 2002 OSAE, the first scoring of the 2002 OSAE has been rescheduled for February with CME credit given for 2002. Answer sheets or online answer files to be included in this initial scoring should be received at the Academy office by the extended deadline of Jan. 31, 2003. Individuals who participate in the home study program (OKU7/OSAE) will receive a score report and option to view the preferred response, discussion and reference(s) for each question when they submit their answers and score at a better-than-chance level. The score report will compare the examinee's performance with a group of general orthopaedic surgeons. The AAOS will provide each individual who achieves a better-than-chance level score a statement that documents up to a maximum of 50 hours of category 1 CME credit toward the AMA's Physician Recognition Award. Participation in the OSAE alone qualifies for up to 20 hours of CME category 1 credit.
