AAOS, AOFAS jointly publish new text on the foot and ankle
The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the AAOS have pooled resources to produce Advanced Reconstruction: Foot and Ankle, edited by James A. Nunley, MD; Glenn B. Pfeffer, MD; Roy W. Sanders, MD; and Elly Trepman, MD. This book, intended for surgeons who care for patients with foot and ankle problems, received a highly coveted three-star rating in Doody's Electronic Journal, a leading medical book review service.
Book reviewer Edward Abraham, MD, of the University of Illinois-Chicago, noted that Foot and Ankle was edited by "four orthopaedists fully qualified to write on this subject" and could be helpful to a range of audiences: general orthopaedists, foot and ankle subspecialists, orthopaedic residents and podiatrists.
"I strongly recommend this book to all surgeons caring for patients with foot and ankle problems," Dr. Abraham concluded. A video supplement on CD-ROM accompanies the text. The supplement contains demonstrations from the January 2004 Advanced Foot and Ankle Techniques course.
The cost to AAOS members for the book and video supplement is $160. To order, call customer service at (800) 626-6726. Or order online at www.aaos.org: Go to the Educational Resources Catalog tab and click on Books.
