William J. Bennett, former director of the Office of National Drug Policy in the Bush administration and secretary of education in the Reagan administration, will be one of the presidential guest speakers at this year's Annual Meeting. Bennett will speak about education and social policy issues on Friday, Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday, Feb. 24, Ricardo Martinez, MD, administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will discuss injury prevention and control at 10:30 a.m., and at 11 a.m., His Majesty King Constantine will address the audience. All presentations will be held in the Ballroom of the Congress Center. Also of interest is the "Open Forum with Academy Leaders" on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. in the lounge area of the Terraces Restaurant located in the Congress Center. Academy president James W. Strickland, MD, will moderate the forum that includes presentations outlining current Academy activities.
