Opportunities for fun at 2006 Annual Meeting: Playground Build, Sunrise Run

Plan on arriving early for the 2006 Safe, Accessible Playground Build on Tuesday, March 21. The AAOS is partnering with the Chicago Family Foundation, Black Youth in Action and KaBoom! to build a playground in one day in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. Shuttle buses will transport volunteers from McCormick Place to the build site. No experience is necessary—volunteers work under the supervision of trained project managers.

Early risers are encouraged to join the AAOS Sunrise 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, March 25. The run, which is open to AAOS meeting attendees, will begin with check-in at Chicago’s Fairmont Hotel at 5:30 a.m., and runners will set off along a lakefront route at 6 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for orthopaedic research and proceeds benefit the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation and the Team Ortho Foundation. There is a $25 registration fee.
