Dr. McAfee, Rep. Thomas to speak at Annual Meeting

Robert E. McAfee, MD, former president of the American Medical Association, is scheduled to be one of the presidential guest speakers at this year's Annual Meeting. Dr. McAfee will discuss the physician's role in protecting patients who are victims of family violence. Dr. McAfee is responsible for helping implement the AMA's Physician Campaign Against Family Violence. Rep. William M. Thomas (R-Calif.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, House Ways and Means, also will speak at the Annual Meeting. Rep. Thomas will discuss recent legislative health care reform efforts on the national and state level. Both presentations will be made in the Gateway Ballroom of the Moscone Convention Center. Specific times and dates will be announced at the Annual Meeting.
