Specialty societies announce poster exhibit winners

This year, for the first time, space at the Annual Meeting will be given to poster exhibits selected as the "best of their society" based on a peer review process from member societies of the Council of Musculoskeletal Specialty Societies. The poster titles, principal exhibitors and society names are: "Improving the Diagnostic Accuracy of Cartilage Hip Joint Injuries: Correlation of Gadolinium MRI with Surgery," Joseph C. McCarthy, MD, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons; "Vascularity of the Lateral Calcaneal Flap," Joseph Borrelli Jr., MD, Orthopaedic Trauma Association; "A Biomechanical Evaluation of Thoracic Spinal Stability: Significance of Costovertebral Joints in Providing Stability," Tatsuto Takeuchi, MD, Scoliosis Research Society; "Subluxation of the Ulnar Nerve as a Risk Factor for Iatrogenic Nerve Injury During Percutaneous Pinning of Supracondylar Humerus Fractures," Charles D'Amato, MD, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America; "Continuous Motion Kinematics in the Loaded Human Cadaveric Knee: The Effect of Constraint, Axis and Cruciate Ligament Transection and the Determination of the Instant Center of Motion," Marlene DeMaio, MD, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine; "Patient Outcomes Following Minimally Destabilizing Lumbar Spinal Stenosis," Thomas J. Kleeman, MD, North American Spine Society; "Cervical Spine Fusion Not Protective of Cervical Spine Injury and Tetraplegia," Lawrence C. Vogel, MD, American Spinal Injury Association; and "Functional and Dynamic Assessment of Plantarflexion Peak Torque Following Flexor Hallucis Longus Augmentation for Achilles Tendinosis or Rupture," Michael T. Monroe, MD, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. The poster exhibits will be located in Hall D of the Morial Convention Center.
