July 2002 AAOS Report

AAOS publishes new resource on surgical exposure of ankle

A new addition to the AAOS library of orthopaedic resource books is Selective Exposures in Orthopaedic Surgery, The Ankle, edited by Angus M. McBryde Jr., MD. The CD-ROM program, which is compatible with Windows 98, ME, 200, XP and Macintosh O/S9.x, will be available on July 15, 2002. Facility with surgical exposures is a prerequisite to completing virtually any orthopaedic procedure. Selective Exposures: The Ankle presents live patient surgery examples of three main ankle exposures: anterior, posterolateral, and posteromedial. Skilled orthopaedic surgeons use cadaveric dissections of each exposure to highlight areas of risk and potential pitfalls for each approach. This program also includes self-assessment questions with images, and references with abstracts and articles by the top names in ankle surgery. Earn up to 3 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 CME credit. To order a copy of this resource at $89, $69 for AAOS members and $59 for residents, call Customer Service at (800) 626-6726
