AOA - with OREF and Zimmer - create Resident Leadership Forum
The American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) has announced that, in conjunction with the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) and Zimmer Inc., it has developed a Resident Leadership Forum program for year-four residents aimed at leadership development within orthopaedics and beyond. Attendees were nominated by their departments and selected by the AOA Resident Leadership Forum Committee. This year's resident leadership forum was held in conjunction with the AOA's annual meeting, June 10-12 in Charleston, S.C. Nominations for next year's forum will be accepted this fall.
The Resident Leadership Forum identifies future leaders among orthopaedic residents, and offers them opportunities to interact with current orthopaedic leaders. It encourages residents to assess and develop their own personal leadership skills and direction, leaving them with a new understanding of what it means to be an orthopaedic leader.
