Attend AAOS-sponsored workers’ comp program
The Academy’s “7th Annual Occupational Orthopaedics and Workers’ Compensation Course: A Multidisciplinary Perspective” will be held Oct. 28-30, 2005, in Las Vegas. The program will present an in-depth review of treating workplace injuries with a special focus on return-to-work issues.
The course co-directors are J. Mark Melhorn, MD, and Ian Blair Fries, MD. Participants will learn how to formulate a treatment plan with return to work guidelines; review anatomy and basic science of musculoskeletal pain; compare various surgical and nonsurgical treatment protocols for workplace injuries; discuss alternative treatments, rehabilitation techniques and outcomes; improve report writing and develop new skills in office management of injuries; recognize problematic issues regarding physical impairment—and more.
