July 1998 AAOS Report

Participate in summer calcium education tour

Academy members can take advantage of the National Fluid Milk Processors (creators of the Milk Mustache advertisement campaign) "Milk Mustache Mobile Better Bones Tour." The summer bus tour, designed to educate young people about the importance of calcium for building strong bones and preventing osteoporosis later in life, will make stops across the U.S. distributing educational materials to attendees about maintaining proper bone health. Academy members can request free educational materials including brochures, posters and physician tear pads with health tips by contacting (800) WHY-MILK. To participate and find out when the mobile bus tour is coming to your area, Academy members can log on to www.whymilk.com. The National Fluid Milk Processors program also received support from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and American Academy of Pediatrics.
