Call issued for 2006 Diversity Award nominees

The AAOS Diversity Committee has issued a call for nominations for the 2006 Diversity Award. The deadline for submitting a nomination for the award is Sept. 1, 2005.

The Diversity Award recognizes an Academy fellow who has significantly contributed to advancing culturally competent care and who embodies the issue of diversity in orthopaedics.

The award provides a $5,000 donation to the fellow to continue to make orthopaedists more representative and accessible to the diverse population they serve.

Any Academy fellow in good standing is eligible for the award. Nominations can come from Academy fellows or candidate members eligible for fellowship, as well as from orthopaedic residents who have directly benefited from the activities of the nominee.
