New board members elected

During the Ceremonial Meeting on Friday, Feb. 25, Stuart L. Weinstein, MD, was introduced as the 72nd president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Richard F. Kyle, MD, became the first vice-president. Richard H. Gelberman, MD, chair of the 2005 Nominating Committee, presented the nominees and the fellowship elected new members to the Board of Directors. The new members are: James H. Beaty, MD, second vice-president; William L. Healy, MD, treasurer-elect; Gordon M. Aamoth, MD, member at large/no age designation; and Kristy L. Weber, MD, member at large/under age 45. Other new board members include Joseph C. McCarthy, MD, Council of Musculoskeletal Specialty Societies, and Matthew S. Shapiro, MD, Board of Councilors.
