March 1997 AAOS Report
July 1 is deadline for Kappa Delta, OREF awards
Individuals interested in submitting original manuscripts for the 1998 Kappa Delta Awards and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award must forward their papers to the Academy by July 1. Manuscripts for the Kappa Delta Awards should focus on the results of basic or clinical research relating to the musculoskeletal system. The manuscripts also must represent either a large volume or many years of scientific work or describe a single research project of unquestionable significance. The OREF Clinical Research Award will focus on the recognition of outstanding clinical research related directly to musculoskeletal disease or injury. Up to three $20,000 Kappa Delta Awards will be given, one of which is designated for "Young Investigators." The OREF Clinical Research Award also is worth $20,000. The Academy will announce the winners in November 1997 and presentation ceremonies will be held during the Academy's 1998 Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
