July 1 is deadline for Kappa Delta, OREF awards
July 1 is the deadline for individuals interested in submitting original
manuscripts for the 1999 Kappa Delta Awards and the Orthopaedic Research
and Education Foundation (OREF) Clinical Research Award. Manuscripts for
the Kappa Delta Awards should focus on the results of basic or clinical
research relating to the musculoskeletal system. The papers also must
represent either a large volume or many years of scientific work or
describe a single research project of unquestionable significance. The
OREF Clinical Research Award will focus on the recognition of outstanding
clinical research related directly to musculoskeletal disease or injury.
Up to three $20,000 Kappa Delta Awards will be given, one of which is
designated for "Young Investigators." The OREF Clinical Research Award
also is $20,000. Presentation ceremonies for the award winners will be held
during the Academy’s 1999 Annual Meeting in Anaheim, Calif.
