Seek candidates for FDA Orthopaedic Devices Panel
AAOS is seeking nominations of AAOS fellows to represent the organization on the FDA's Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Devices Panel. The panel makes recommendations on new device approvals, device classifications/reclassifications, and the safety, effectiveness, and appropriate use of medical products. Persons nominated must be experts in their field and have experience in medical practice, teaching and/or relevant research. Currently, experts in joint replacement surgery and spine surgery are being sought. The panel meets three times annually in the Washington, D.C. area. The FDA reimburses expenses and provides a stipend to members. A brochure with more complete information is available at http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/ode/advbrochure.pdf.
