The AAOS Diversity Committee has issued a call for nominations for the 2005 Diversity Award. The deadline for submitting nominations is Sept. 1, 2004.
The award recognizes Academy fellows who have distinguished themselves through their commitment to making orthopaedics more representative and accessible to the diverse population it serves. All Academy fellows in good standing are eligible for the award.
The 2005 award will be the third diversity award presented to an AAOS fellow. The award includes a $5,000 donation to a cause selected by the honoree that will lead to greater diversity in orthopaedics. Nominations can come from Academy fellows, or candidate members eligible for fellowship, as well as from orthopaedic residents who have directly benefited from the activities of the nominee.
