May 2004 AAOS Report

In medical liability campaign, “Show Me” state provides “how to”

Medical liability is a national debate, but reform is also occurring at the state level. Like so many states, Missouri is in the throes of the current crisis. The actions being taken by the Missouri State Orthopaedic Association (MSOA) and AAOS show the formidable effort that goes into each state campaign. Today, MSOA and AAOS are closely watching House Bill 1304, which is moving through the Missouri legislature. Online advocacy pages will soon be attached to MSOA’s Web site (www.msoa.org) encouraging visitors’ involvement in the debate. Those who log in are urged to contact Missouri Gov. Bob Holden and to tell others about the need for medical liability reform.

Your contribution to the AAOS Medical Liability Campaign can help move the campaign’s efforts forward—just as they are taking form in Missouri.

Please make your personal or corporate check payable to the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and send it to AAOS, 6300 N. River Road, Rosemont, Ill. 60018, Attn: Medical Liability. Credit card contributions are also welcome.
