New publication explores future of tissue engineering in orthopaedics

Tissue Engineering in Musculoskeletal Practice, edited by Linda J. Sandell, PhD, and Alan J. Grodzinsky, ScD, is a new Academy publication that explores the potential for tissue engineering as a biological solution for human tissues in orthopaedic surgery. It provides answers regarding the readiness of tissue-engineered materials for the OR, how they can be introduced into clinics and how they might affect orthopaedic practice. It also covers available and emerging therapies for bone, cartilage, ligament, tendon, meniscus, invertebral disk and muscle, as well as their clinical application and development.
