The first requirement to getting the most out of the AAOS's 70th Annual Meeting in New Orleans is to be there to experience it! Register online now at www.aaos.org, under the Annual Meeting section and then link to online housing and airline reservations. The meeting will be held from Wednesday, Feb. 5 to Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 at the Ernest Morial Convention Center. This gathering, with educational offerings that attract orthopaedic surgeons from around the globe, is the largest of its kind. Participants can experience more than 175 instructional courses, 31 symposia, 310 paper presentations, and 500 poster and scientific exhibits.
All Fellows are urged to attend the Ceremonial and Annual Business Meetings at the convention center on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 at 8 a.m. At the Ceremonial Meeting James H. Herndon, MD, will give his First Vice Presidential Address.
Guest speakers at this year's meeting are former senator and presidential candidate Bob Dole and Edward James Olmos, actor, producer and activist. A highlight of the meeting is the "Legacy of Heroes" exhibit, which is a compilation of memorabilia from World War II that recognizes the contributions of orthopaedic surgeons during the war. A "Legacy of Heroes" film will also debut at the meeting.
