2005 Nominating Committee elected

The 2005 Nominating Committee consists of Richard M. Gelberman, MD, chair; Joseph A. Buckwalter, MD; Richard D. Coutts, MD; Howard R. Epps, MD; Augusto Sarmiento, MD; James W. Strickland, MD; and Roby C. Thompson, Jr., MD. Dan M. Spengler, MD, was elected as the committee’s alternate member.

The 2005 Nominating Committee will make its recommendation on several positions during the business meeting of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005: National Membership Committee member (Eastern Region); at-large member of the board (under age 45 at time of election)—for a two-year, non-renewable term; at-large member of the Board (no age designation)—for a two-year, non-renewable term; treasurer-elect (for a one-year ex officio term, then assuming the position of treasurer for three years); and second vice-president. There were a total of 5,471 returned ballots, which means that 26.7% of those fellows eligible to vote did cast ballots. The Nominating Committee is soliciting the views of the fellowship regarding individuals who might serve in these positions.
