Attend Annual Meeting Opening Ceremonies
Opening ceremonies for the 1999 Annual Meeting take place on Thursday, Feb.
4 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Anaheim Convention Center's Arena.
Academy president James D. Heckman, MD, will preside at the ceremony that
honors new fellows. Dr. Heckman's address will focus on volunteerism in
orthopaedics. Former Academy president Newton C. McCollough III, MD, will
provide the welcoming address to the new fellows, and Walter B. Greene, MD,
will provide the invocation. The opening ceremonies feature the traditional
parade of flags as international and North American orthopaedic society presidents
are honored. The All American Boys Chorus will be the featured entertainment
during the opening ceremonies. The ceremony also includes the presentations to
the Kappa Delta and Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation award winners.
