Kappa Delta, OREF awards announced

The 2000 Kappa Delta Award and the OREF Clinical Research Award winners were approved by the Academy board of directors Oct. 1. The winners are: Ann Doner Vaughn Award, L.E. Dahners, MD, and G.E. Lester, PhD, department of orthopaedic surgery, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, for "On Changes in Length of Dense Collagenous Tissue: Growth and Contracture"; Elizabeth Winston-Lanier Award, R. Tracey Ballock, MD, department of orthopaedics, Case Western Reserve University, for "Regulation of Endochondral Ossification by Thyroid Hormone"; Young Investigator Award, Qian Chen, PhD, department of orthopaedics and rehabilitation, Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, for "Molecular Regulation of Chondrocyte Differentiation"; OREF Clinical Research Award, Benjamin A. Alman, MD, and Jay S. Wunder, MD, The Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto, division of orthopaedic surgery, for "Developmental Pathways in Musculoskeletal Neoplasia: Aggressive Fibromatosis and the Wingless (WNT) Pathway."
