Course presents multidisciplinary approach to workers' comp
Workers' compensation cases are a significant part of many orthopaedists' practice. The Academy's "5th Annual Occupational Orthopaedic and Workers' Compensation Course: A Multidisciplinary Perspective" covers the subject in depth. At least 27 percent of an orthopaedist's practice involves workers' compensation. Learn to unravel the clinical, administrative, legal, ethical and insurance elements of the workers' compensation system to your advantage. Understand the psychological and social factors that accompany work-related illnesses. Co-chairs for the course are J. Mark Melhorn, MD, and Dan M. Spengler, MD. Learning how to protect workers is another important issue that will be discussed at the course, which will be held in Cambridge, Mass., Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
