Register for AAOS orthopaedic coding courses
Just one AAOS and KarenZupko & Associates orthopaedic coding and practice management workshop remains in 2006—Nov. 10-11, in Chicago. The all-day Friday session, “Reimbursement Strategies and Tactics for Orthopaedists,” covers essential subjects, including the effectiveness of the billing team, top claim submission tips and the reality of financial reports. Saturday’s “Mastering Orthopaedic Coding,” covers topics ranging from the 2006 CPT update to the anatomy of an operative note, common coding dilemmas, modifiers and new patient visits versus consultations.
The new AAOS and KarenZupko & Associates introductory medical record coding course, “Core Competencies in Orthopaedic Coding,” will be offered on Nov. 17 in Atlanta. The one-day (six-hour) course provides a thorough introduction to coding principles and payment issues and is geared to new orthopaedic surgeons in practice, new coding and billing staff, as well as other managerial staff new to orthopaedics.
