Public to file claims for silicone-based products
Dow Corning Corp., which is being reorganized under chapter 11
of U.S. Bankruptcy Code, is alerting the public that people with
possible claims for problems they believe are caused by silicone
implants manufactured by the corporation should file the claim
by Jan. 15, 1997. The largest class of potential claimants are
those who have silicone breast implants manufactured by Dow Corning.
However, the notice also applies to silicone-based products manufactured
or sold by Dow Corning Wright Corp. The products include orthopaedic
joint implants used in fingers, toes and wrists and metal orthopaedic
joint implants used in knees, hips and wrists. For more information,
