Academy seeks new editor for JAAOS

The Academy is accepting applications for editor-in-chief of the bi-monthly Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons: A Comprehensive Review (JAAOS). Serving at the discretion of the Academy's Board of Directors, the editor-in-chief is responsible for maintaining and advancing the intellectual reputation of the journal and overall editorial direction and accuracy of content and illustrations. The editor-in-chief nominates the panel of associate editors; appoints members of the Editorial Review Board and a separate panel of reviewers; ensures that the journal meets its publishing objectives; and authorizes the timely publication of peer-reviewed articles. The editor-in-chief also approves advertising content for each issue. The candidate for the position must be a fellow of the Academy; author of publications appearing in peer-reviewed journals; have editorial experience in the peer-review process; and willing and able to commit the time required to fulfill the editor's duties.
