Is your practice Y2K compliant?

Information about making your practice Y2K compliant is available from the Health Care Financing Administration's (HCFA) web site-www.hcfa.gov/Y2K. HCFA's web site details "how to" steps that can be taken by physicians, and includes information on inventorying hardware and software programs; assessing the Y2K readiness of a practices' inventory; updating or replacing systems; testing existing and newly-purchased systems and software; and developing business continuity plans for unexpected problems. The HCFA home page also includes links to other essential sites such as the Food and Drug Administration's web site on medical device compliance.
