The Massachusetts Orthopaedic Association elected officers at its annual meeting. The new officers are D. Hoagland Rosania, MD, president; Samuel D. Gerber, MD, vice president; and Donald H. Hangen, MD, secretary/treasurer . . . The Crippled Children's Guild Hospital in Los Angeles will honor James V. Luck Jr, MD, at a gala event, "Celebrating Children at Play" on Sept. 14 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. . . . Melvin P. Rosenwasser, MD, has been named the first Robert E. Carroll professor of hand surgery at Columbia University . . . Gene Wurth, JD, was appointed president of the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, effective Sept. 1. Current President Tom Coffman, who announced earlier that he would step down as OREF president when a replacement was hired, will become president of Children's United Rehabilitation Effort.
