ORS announces three awards
The Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) is accepting applicants to three award programs. ORS is accepting manuscripts for the William Harris Award on the topic of the hip. The awardee, who will receive $5,000 and a plaque, must be under the age of 45. Application deadline is Nov. 1, 2001. Nominees for the ORS's Marshall Urist Award should be cutting-edge researchers in the field of tissue regeneration. The awardee will receive a $10,000 prize ($5,000 payable to the individual and $5,000 paid to the recipient's nonprofit laboratory or institution) and an engraved glass sculpture. The deadline is Nov. 1, 2001. ORS is also accepting applications for the Traveling Fellowship Awards. The two recipients, who will each receive a $7,500 award, must be under the age of 40 prior to the application deadline. The deadline is Dec. 15, 2001. Recipients of all of these awards must be ORS members in good standing.
