Orthopaedic specialty meetings planned
The Academic Orthopaedic Society (AOS) will hold its 11th annual meeting Nov. 8-9, 2002 in Chicago. Topics will include resident work hours, the core competencies, professionalism and ethics. The Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) will hold its 30th annual meeting in Miami Beach, Fla. from Dec. 5 to 7, 2002. The Arthroscopy Association of North America will hold its 21st fall course in Palm Desert, Calif., from Nov. 17 to 20, 2002. The course will be devoted to knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow arthroscopy. Participants will be provided with hands-on cadaver laboratories. Richard K. N. Ryu, MD, is the course chairman. The association's 22nd annual meeting is scheduled for April 24 to 27, 2003 in Phoenix, Ariz. Donald H. Johnson, MD, will serve as chairman of the meeting . . . The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) has endorsed the International Pediatric Orthopaedic Symposium, which will be held from Dec. 4 to 8, 2002 in Orlando, Fla. The planning committee for the event consists of six POSNA members, three appointed by POSNA and three appointed by Nemours. The Orthopaedic Trauma Association will present a CME course, "Orthopaedic Fracture Management and Orthopaedic Emergencies," Nov. 22-24, 2002 in Nashville, Tenn. Program chairs are Joseph Borrelli Jr., MD, and Robert A. Probe, MD. Registrants can earn up to 17 Category I CME credit hours at this course, which will include didactic lectures, small group discussions with case presentations, hands-on sawbones demonstrations and one-on-one faculty consultation.
