AOA seeks applicants for three fellowships

The American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) is seeking applications from orthopaedists for the 2005 AOA-ABC Exchange Traveling Fellowship to Great Britain and South Africa. The fellowship is open to orthopaedic surgeons who are certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, who are U.S. citizens and are less than 40 years old as of Dec. 31, 2004. For more information, contact William J. Maloney, MD, chair. The deadline for applications is Dec. 15, 2003.

The John J. Fahey, MD, Memorial North American Traveling Fellowship is open to North American orthopaedists who have completed an orthopaedic residency on or after June 30, 2001 or who entered directly into military service after completing an orthopaedic residency on or after June 30, 2000. For more information on this traveling fellowship in the United States and Canada during the fall of 2005, contact Guy D. Paiement, MD, chair. The deadline for U.S. applications is Dec. 10, 2004.

The C. Howard Hatcher Pathology Fellowship seeks an individual who has completed an orthopaedic surgery residency program. It specifically supports fellowships that do not have existing funds available. Applicants must obtain a fellowship prior to seeking the support of the Hatcher Fellowship Fund. An international fellowship exchange is preferred. For information, contact Douglas J. McDonald, MD, chair. Applications are due Dec. 10, 2003.
